Materials:

2004 Colored Habitat map overlay
2004 Red River Aerial Photograph
1:24,000 scale 1980/1992 Shreveport East, LA, USGS Topographic Quadrangle
Red River Photographic Essay
Ultra-fine black marker pen
Magnifying glass

Exercise:

1. Review the Red River Photographic Essay. Note locations of each picture taken and the habitat description for each photo.

2. Using the 2004 Red River aerial photograph, the 2004 Colored Habitat overlay, and the Red River Photographic Essay, identify habitats locations on the 1:24,000 scale 1980/1992 Shreveport East, LA, USGS Topographic Quadrangle

3. Use the topographic map at the front of the Red River Photographic Essay to match a picture from the Red River Photographic Essay with each of the habitats on the overlay. Write the picture number from the Red River Photographic Essay that corresponds to one of each of the habitat type. Write the name of the identified habitat near the corresponding picture number.
