2004 Aerial Photograph with taped overlays

1:20,000 scale 1966 Parguera, Puerto Rico,USGS Topographic Quadrangle

Photographic Essay

Black marker pen

Magnifying glass

Exercise:

1. Review the La Parguera Photographic Essay. Note locations of each picture taken and the habitat description for each photo.

2. Using the 2004 aerial photograph and the La Parguera Photographic Essay, identify habitat by comparing the pictures´ locations on the photograph.

3. Use the topographic map at the front of the Photographic Essay (showing photo locations) and the magnifying glass to identify the following habitats.
On the photo overlay, mark each of the following habitats with a "+" using the black pen.

Forested wetlands
Wetland scrub-shrub
Upland scrub-shrub
Upland forested
Range
Reef

4. Match a picture from the photographic essay with each of the habitats. Write the picture number form the photographic essay that corresponds
to the habitat type beside each habitat "+" mark. Write the name of the identified habitat near the corresponding "+" and picture number.
