False River Photographic Essay
Ultra-fine black marker pen
Magnifying glass

Exercise:

  1. Review the False River Photographic Essay. Note locations of each picture taken and the habitat description for each photo.


  2. Using the 2004 False River aerial photograph, the 2004 Colored Habitat overlay, and the False River Photographic Essay, identify habitats locations on the 1:24,000 scale 1962/1994 New Roads, LA / 1962/1980 Erwinville, LA USGS Topographic Quadrangles.


  3. Use the topographic map at the front of the False River Photographic Essay to match a picture from the False River Photographic Essay with each of the habitats on the overlay. Write the picture number from the False River Photographic Essay that corresponds to one of each of the habitat type. Write the name of the identified habitat near the corresponding picture number.
