2004 Wallops Island Aerial Photograph
1:24,000 scale 1986 Chincoteague, VA, USGS Topographic Quadrangle
Wallops Island Photographic Essay
Ultra-fine black marker pen
Magnifying glass

Exercise:

  1. Review the Wallops Island Photographic Essay. Note locations of each picture taken and the habitat description for each photo.


  2. Using the 2004 Wallops Island aerial photograph, the 2004 Colored Habitat overlay, and the Wallops Island Photographic Essay, identify habitat locations on the 1:24,000 scale 1986 Chincoteague, VA USGS Topographic Quadrangle.


  3. Use the topographic map at the front of the Wallops Island Photographic Essay to match a picture from the Wallops Island Photographic Essay with each of the habitats on the overlay. Write the picture number from the Wallops Island Photographic Essay that corresponds to one of each of the habitat type. Write the name of the identified habitat near the corresponding picture number.
