Exercise:

      1.   Use 1:24,000 scale1:24,000 scale Golden Meadow/Golden Meadow Farms/Bay Courant/Mink Bay Topographic Quadrangle.

      2.   Examine scale at bottom of page.

      3.   Use ruler.

            4.   Measure distance across study site from west to east.

      5.   Place the ruler over bar scale (bar scale measurement in feet).
